Spotlight on Fabric Rolls
At Stitch Kitchen, like people, fabric comes in all shapes and sizes.
From scraps smaller than the palm of your hand that make you wonder ‘what can I do with this?’, to huge rolls of many meters of fabric, that make you wonder ‘what can I do with THIS?’.
Sometimes the more fabric, the more challenges…
From cosy home decor, to the chance to try out some contemporary dress designs… Or even historic costuming, steampunk or cosplay.
Some sewists come to our shop with a particular project in mind, looking for fabric to suit, say… About 2.5m of cotton or linen mid weight fabric to make a versatile shift dress.
Or some come with a more general idea, looking for inspiration for a new project based on what they find in our Makers Pantry… Maybe a fun piece of printed quilting cotton that’s perfect for a characterful new top!
Fortunately, we work to make it easier for you, creating sections for fabrics of different sizes.
Not so well known are the rolls of fabrics we have, ideal for bigger projects, or when you want the flexibility of choosing just the amount you need.
These fabrics are over 5 metres in length, and available to buy by-the-metre.
We have a huge range of different weights, knit and woven fabrics.
Everything from polar fleece and un-dyed cotton t-shirting, to patchwork, to curtain and upholstery fabrics.
Here’s a taster of some of the recent stock we have in-store:

Every purchase is doing something to help make the world a better place by helping us reduce landfill and demand for new manufacturing because all our notions are ‘sustainably sourced’ from donations as an alternative to landfill, and lovingly curated by our amazing staff and volunteers.
